Ranch-style homes from the 1960s

Brick ranch-style homes make up the majority of Deerbourne’s housing scene, most built in the mid-1960s. Most homes are between 1,000 and 1,200 square feet and feature three bedrooms, hardwood floors and fenced-in backyards, and many have recently renovated kitchens and bathrooms. "When homes in this part of town are ready to go and updated, there is high demand," says Issac Abdelmalak, a Realtor with Virginia Capital Realty. "In that case, they only last for a few days on the market." Houses range from the low $200,000s to the high $200,000s. With a median price of $260,000, the neighborhood tends to be more affordable than surrounding communities like Hickory Hill and British Camp Farms, which have medians of $290,000 and $270,000, respectively.
