Anderson East
Character-rich ranch-style homes
According to Liborio Millares, a real estate agent with Compass who lives in the area, most houses here are single-family homes with bigger backyards than in nearby neighborhoods. Midcentury ranch-style homes are common, some with storybook elements like decorative eaves and flared roofs; these sit close together along narrow streets lined with sidewalks and medium-sized trees. Buyers can also find split levels and Cape Cods.In May 2024, the median home price was $1.3 million, 21% lower than San Jose’s median of $1.6 million. A three-bedroom ranch-style home can start at $1.1 million, while a four-bedroom split-level can cost $1.6 million.

It attracts people from all around.” The 5-acre Miner Park in the neighborhood’s west has redwood trees to relax under, plus a fitness course and playground to burn some energy. At the Southside Community Center, residents can enroll in art and exercise classes, including ballroom dance, ceramics and fitness over 50; the center also offers kids’ summer camps and after-school programs.Join the Journalism Club at Oak Ridge High
