“A beautiful area with a lot to do”

Located 9 miles from downtown San Jose, Country Lane is a tree-filled suburb known for its proximity to highly rated schools, Westgate Center shopping mall and Apple’s headquarters. “No matter what direction you go, you’re in a beautiful area with a lot to do,” says Jessica Mills, a Realtor with Intero Real Estate Services, Inc. “It feels like you’re in your own little world. It’s calm. Everybody loves their neighbors, and it’s very family oriented.” The overall CAP Index Crime Score is 3 out of 10, lower than the national average of 4. Nearby houses of worship include Chinese Church in Christ San Jose and WestGate Church. Shopping centers in the south make for easy errand runs and fun evenings out. The small cities of Cupertino, Saratoga and Campbell are all within 4 miles, providing even more options for entertainment, and the Lawrence Expressway in the west grants easy access to the rest of Silicon Valley.

Ranch-style homes on lush lots

Country Lane’s midcentury ranch-style and split-level homes sit along tree-lined streets, with yards large enough for a two-car paved driveway and manicured lawn. “It’s very lush,” Mills says, “with sprawling lots and wide-set homes.” Most have three to four bedrooms and attached driveways, and many have backyard pools. Prices typically range from $1.5 million to $3.8 million, depending on size and renovation status. Three-bedroom townhouses are also available in the neighborhood’s southeast; these can cost between $1.4 million and 1.5 million, plus $360 in monthly homeowners association fees that cover landscaping and pool maintenance.

The A-rated Prospect High is the only high school in the Bay Area with a working observatory; students here can enroll in astronomy courses and join the Astronomy Club. Kids might also attend nearby A-plus-rated private schools, including Archbishop Mitty High and The Harker School for kindergarten through Grade 12.
