Seattle University is located within Minor. The private Jesuit school has about 4,300 undergraduates and 2,750 postgraduates. Assessors value four-bedroom early 20th-century Arts and Crafts-style homes at between $1 million and $1.5 million. Minor is near other sought-after neighborhoods like Capitol Hill and Madrona. “Home prices are slightly lower compared to Capitol Hill and Madrona but higher than other areas south of it,” Chu says.

Public schools within walking distance
Many local children attend Bailey Gatzert Elementary School, which has an 11-to-1 student-teacher ratio and a C-plus Niche rating. Students at the Seattle World School are 15% proficient in reading and math. The school serves grades middle and high school students and has a C-minus Niche rating. Teens often move on to O’Dea High School, which has a 100% graduation rate and an A Niche rating. All schools are accessible via sidewalk.

Getting around Minor and Seattle
