Suburban community on Willamette River’s north bank
West Springfield is neatly tucked between both nature and convenient commercial spaces, along with Interstate 5 running through the west and the Willamette River flowing along the south. "West Springfield blends into the Eugene area, so there's access to the dining, retail and entertainment of this larger city while remaining in a quieter, more suburban neighborhood," says Realtor Ericka Tatum, a premier agent with Redfin Real Estate.

Woodlands and recreation along the Willamette River
The Willamette River was once a shipping channel and now is used for various water sports and activities, including whitewater rafting, boating and fishing. "Kayaking, walking and picnicking near the river is super popular here," says Tatum. "There are also waterfalls and great hiking spots just a few miles away." The West D Street Greenway spans 15 acres, located within the Eastgate Woodlands, and has over a mile of paved, multi-use trail. Boats can launch from the river’s north bank, which is adjacent to Heron Playground and its open space. Meadow Park’s 7 acres include access to the Rosa Parks Bike Corridor, a 2-mile trail that runs parallel to Springfield’s Emerald Express (EmX) bus route on Pioneer Parkway. Meadow Park also has facilities for various sports, including a baseball diamond, basketball court with adjustable hoops and pickleball courts.
