New Yorkers have started moving into their new condominium homes in one of Brooklyn's trendiest neighborhoods, the building's developer said.
New York City developer Avdoo has completed most of the construction on Bergen — a seven-story building with 105 units in the Boerum Hill section — and closings began this week. Bergen features studios to five-bedroom units, and about 70% have been sold. However, a nearly 1,400-square-foot unit and an almost 2,350-square-foot penthouse are among the homes still up for grabs, Avdoo said.
The remaining homes available at 323 Bergen St. range from $825,000 for a 480-square-foot studio to $6.4 million for a five-bedroom penthouse, according to the developer.

DXA Studio handled master planning for the building while Workstead coordinated the interior design. Horticulturist Patrick Cullina oversaw the building's landscape design.
Bergen is also the first condo building completed by Mexico City-based architect Taller Frida Escobedo, who is also working on a new addition to the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Boerum Hill is known for its prewar townhouses that give the neighborhood the feel of living in a small town, even though it's in the Big Apple's second-largest borough. Homebuying across Brooklyn cooled a bit last month — particularly for condos and co-ops — but market watchers say there's enough demand in the borough to rebound from July activity. The median sales price for a new development condo remained at $1.2 million in the second quarter, unchanged from the same period a year ago, according to figures from brokerage Douglas Elliman.
"Strong buyer demand has made Bergen one of New York City’s most consistently high-performing buildings," Brendan Aguayo, principal at Avdoo, said in a statement. "With residents now calling Bergen home, this new community in Boerum Hill is only becoming more vibrant and desirable."
Inside the building, 75% of the units have their own outdoor spaces and some of the penthouses have private rooftops and pools. Bergen residents will also have access to a meditation room, spa and fitness studio on the first floor. The building has entertainment and media suites for screening films and producing podcasts, Avdoo said.

Outside the building, residents will have access to two rooftop parks with dining spaces, firepits and grills.
