A team of real estate agents focused on parts of Rhode Island along Narragansett Bay and the Atlantic Ocean joined the Corcoran Group as the brokerage’s first franchise in the state.
The New York City-based parent company said in a statement that Corcoran Chart House Realty will maintain its presence in coastal towns and cities. Chart House, founded in 2013, has operated from an office in the suburb of Barrington for the past seven years but plans to expand to spaces in Newport and on the east side of Providence, the state capital.
The Corcoran Group is part of Anywhere Real Estate, which announced last week that it plans to join the Compass network. The deal is tentatively set to close in September 2026.
Chart House broker-owner Matthew Antonio cited Corcoran’s marketing power, technology tools and international presence as incentives for joining the brokerage.
“Joining the Corcoran network allows us to grow without losing what makes our company feel like home to our clients,” he said in the statement.
Corcoran has grown its affiliate, or franchise, network rapidly since it launched in 2020, with new openings last year in Houston, Boston, Raleigh, Washington, D.C., and Portland, Oregon. It also launched affiliates abroad in Canada, Mexico, Portugal, Italy and Germany.
The scenic waterfront and historic character of Rhode Island’s coastal towns and cities attract both primary and second-home buyers, according to Corcoran’s statement, including those from Boston and New York.
“Rhode Island’s East Bay and coastal enclaves offer a rare blend of heritage, lifestyle, and enduring real estate value,” Pamela Liebman, Corcoran’s president and chief executive officer, said in the statement.
