New York City real estate brokerage Compass said it has added a new agent to its Connecticut office.

Stephanie O'Grady, who has already sold $25 million in real estate so far this year, will join the company and be based in Compass' Darien office. The Florida native, who holds a psychology degree from Florida State University, started her real estate career in New York City and is now focused on residential real estate in the suburbs, Compass officials said.

"Stephanie’s talent for building genuine client relationships and her in-depth knowledge of both urban and suburban markets make her an exceptional agent," David Haffenreffer, Compass' Connecticut managing director, said in a statement. "But it’s her communication skills and her commitment to her clients that are impressive. Her reputation for going above and beyond has earned her lasting trust from clients across all price points."

Darien is a coastal town in Fairfield County, Connecticut, known for its views of the Long Island Sound. Residents there live in Colonial or Cape Cod properties along with a handful of waterfront estates. The median home sales price in Fairfield fell to $1.1 million last month, according to market data from William Pitt Julia B Fee Sotheby’s International Realty.

But million-dollar homes are just part of the housing market story in Darien, O'Grady said.

"Right now, inventory is driving everything," she said in a statement. "Homes under $4 million are still moving quickly, while the higher end is now languishing a bit longer on the market. It’s all about timing, preparation, correct pricing before the property goes on the market and strategic guidance."

Compass operates over 500 offices in 38 states along with Washington, D.C. The company reported having roughly 37,700 agents as of the second quarter.

The brokerage operating in so many states is part of the reason O'Grady said she joined Compass.

"I now have great confidence in referring family members, friends, and contacts from Florida, New York City and other parts of the country to Compass when they need a caring and conscientious Realtor in other markets," she said.
