A buyer has stepped forward for a lower Florida Keys estate with 120 feet of direct ocean frontage.
The buyer, a business owner in the boating and marine industry, made the high bid at a luxury auction for 1151 Ocean Drive in unincorporated Summerland Key earlier this month, according to Platinum Luxury Auctions founder and President Trayor Lesnock.
Lesnock said he can't disclose the amount of the offer until the sale closes in January, but he told Homes.com in an email the buyer will pay more than the $4.9 million the seller bought it for during "all-time peak pricing related to the COVID-era boom" in 2021.
Summerland Key is about 20 miles east of Key West and 120 miles south of Miami.
The 3,952-square-foot home, built in 2007, sits on a 0.86-acre lot. The property can accommodate a sixth bedroom and has four full bathrooms and two half bathrooms, according to Platinum and the Homes.com listing. The home previously was listed for about $7 million and $8.9 million, according to marketing materials and the Homes.com listing.
Amenities include a concrete boat slip, a 200-foot dock with a fish-cleaning station, three boat lifts, a private beach and a desalination plant, according to Platinum and Homes.com.
Actress Sydney Sweeney and former Walt Disney CEO Bob Chapek are among celebrities who have homes on Summerland Key, Platinum noted.
The auction drew five registered bidders, according to Lesnock. He said the buyer intends to use the property as a vacation home.
