Looking to drum up interest for out-of-state buyers to come to Arizona in the hot summer months, Scottsdale-based Camelot Homes wants to pay for some of their expenses — if they buy one of their homes.

As the calendar drew closer to June, the Camelot team came up with a "Fly & Buy" incentive to get a leg up on the competition from other luxury builders. Those looking to take advantage can be reimbursed up to $5,000 for their round-trip airfare, lodging, and rental car costs if they purchase a home from Camelot by Aug. 31.

“We understand that many out-of-state buyers looking for a second home or considering a move to Arizona might need a little extra motivation to make the trip during the summer season,” said Camelot's managing director and co-owner, Julie Hancock, in a statement. “That’s why we created this program. The Fly & Buy incentive makes it a little easier to tour our active communities and enjoy a luxury vacation while they’re here."

To get a feel for luxury living, Camelot is offering special rates for buyers to stay at Skyeview, the builder's own short-term luxury rental property on Camelback Mountain. The private residence was renovated by Camelot's custom home division and designed by Trent Hancock and Joel Contreras. Perched atop Camelback Mountain, the four-bedroom, three-bedroom home is equipped with sleek interiors, a wraparound patio, a hillside pool, hot tub and sauna. The property can be booked by the general public on Airbnb.

The bulk of available homes within Camelot's communities are in Scottsdale, with a handful of others in Phoenix and Gilbert. Homes range from above $1.5 million up to more than $6 million for a signature luxury home, according to its website.

Leela Smith, director of sales for Camelot, said the homebuilder's out-of-state buyer profile shows they typically come from cities in California, Nevada, Illinois, Texas, Colorado and Canada. Camelot is targeting the metro areas around each of these cities to attract potential buyers.

"While the focus is on allowing prospective buyers to explore at their own pace, Camelot also offers curated opportunities to engage with the local lifestyle," Smith said.

Camelot uses in-house agents to sell their homes.
