A house listed in Granbury, Texas, for $1.39 million has three bedrooms, a glass elevator, a third-level loft — and a hangar to park an airplane.
The property is located at 9029 Bellechase Road in Pecan Plantation Airpark, a residential aviation development 70 miles southwest of Dallas. Of the roughly 3,700 homes, 175 sit on one of two runways and have the space where owners can store their planes.
"It's no different from someone who wants to have a horse at their house," listing agent Steve Bloomquist of Fathom Realty told Homes.com.

Bloomquist, known as the "Texas Flying Realtor", is a private pilot who also lives in the development. He loves the convenience.
"I can be in the air in 10 minutes," he said.
In addition to the 3,400-square-foot hangar, the home has a 1,000-square-foot garage, two dining areas, bamboo flooring, custom cabinetry, two staircases and a full-length balcony with unobstructed runway views, according to the listing.
Development has riverfront homes, too
Pecan Plantation is a gated community with more than 62 miles of private roads, two golf courses and an 80-slip marina with a restaurant, the listing shows. Other amenities include a private boat ramp, three beaches, a recreational vehicle, or RV, park with archery and pellet gun ranges and 17 miles of Brazos River frontage.

Residents also have access to two pools, tennis and pickleball courts, a clubhouse with a 20-room hotel, a sports grill and a full-sized shopping center.
The second runway has about 50 homes on it now, but there will be about 240 when development is complete in the next few years, according to Bloomquist. He estimates that would make Pecan Plantation one of the largest aviation developments in the country.
The house he's listing, built in 2005, sits on a 0.7-acre lot and has 4,340 square feet of living space under air. Annual taxes total more than $12,600, with monthly homeowner association dues at $204.
A buyer who pays full price for the home, puts 20% down and gets a 30-year, fixed-rate mortgage at 6.34% would spend more than $6,800 a month in principal and interest, according to Homes.com data. That doesn't include taxes or property insurance.

Granbury is a growing exurb that offers small-town character, noted Bill Kitchens, senior director of market analytics for Homes.com. The city is only 40 miles outside Fort Worth, Texas, and is becoming known as a good getaway destination for weddings and other events, he said.
"For those reasons, I think more folks are looking to plant themselves in Granbury," Kitchens said.
The obvious drawback to living in an aviation development is the frequent noise of planes landing and taking off. Still, it's relatively mild and not at all like an airport in a major city, according to Bloomquist. In fact, he said, aviation enthusiasts actually appreciate the sound.
Bloomquist said he was talking to a husband and wife in another airport development in Texas. Every few minutes, their conversation was interrupted by an airplane, prompting the wife to ask if they'd have to put up with that racket if they bought into the community.
"The husband said, 'Honey, I certainly hope so,'" Bloomquist said.
