Age-restricted developments for retiring baby boomers are in demand in Florida and across the Sun Belt but luxury homebuilder Toll Brothers says the Northeast is also a vibrant market for them.
Homebuilder Toll said it plans to launch sales this summer at Willis Brook at Lynnfield in Lynnfield, Massachusetts, its fourth, active 55-and-over development in the Bay State. Lynnfield is about 20 miles northeast of Boston.
The project will feature 66 single-family homes across Sagamore Springs Golf Club. Prices will start at about $1.5 million, according to the company website.

The 55-and-over developments, known for large clubhouses and live performances, offer a resort lifestyle and an array of sports and social activities. Massachusetts can't offer year-round warmth, but buyers across the state are drawn for another reason, according to James Fitzpatrick, Toll's president in Massachusetts.
"They are not chasing the sun," he said in an email. "They want to stay close to the grandkids."
Buyers at Willis Brook can choose home designs that include gourmet kitchens and first-floor primary bedroom suites, according to Fort Washington, Pennsylvania-based Toll Brothers.
Toll's other active 55-and-over developments in Massachusetts are Enclave at Hudson, Enclave at Tyngsborough and Toll Brothers at The Pinehills in Plymouth.
