One of the largest U.S. homebuilders is developing 52 townhouses in Chatham Park, a major mixed-use development in progress roughly 30 miles outside Raleigh, North Carolina.

Tri Pointe Homes is building The Townes at NoVi, named for North Village, one of four neighborhoods currently under construction in the development in the town of Pittsboro. The builder said in a statement Wednesday that the three-bedroom houses will range from 1,724 to 1,836 square feet and start in the $400,000 range. The residential area is next door to a YMCA and is where commercial development is forthcoming.

"It’s about more than homeownership — it’s about becoming part of a vibrant, connected neighborhood in one of North Carolina’s most promising destinations,” Tri Pointe Homes Raleigh division president Bob Davenport said in the statement.

Preston Development Co., based in nearby Cary, planned Chatham Park and expects it to cover more than 8,500 acres when completed, according to the project's website. Disney’s Storyliving division announced in 2024 that it would build a mix of more than 4,000 single-family and multifamily homes in the development. Other residential builders at Chatham Park include David Weekley Homes and North Carolina-based firms Garman Homes and Homes by Dickerson.

The neighborhoods in progress are close to exits off U.S. 64, a bypass road around Pittsboro.

Chatham Park has been in development since 2006; the first construction started in 2014 with the groundbreaking for a University of North Carolina medical office building, according to the website.

Besides access to the YMCA, residents in the new townhouses will have access to a 10-mile network of trails, an athletic field and a dog park, among other amenities. Restaurants, services such as an urgent care center and events such as live music are available at Mosaic, another Chatham Park neighborhood six minutes by car from the townhouses. Downtown Pittsboro is the same distance away.
