The unique roof framing provides a beautiful ''spine of light'' for the open-plan, top floor of living, dining and kitchen; bedrooms are on the lower floor. Sensitive updates in 2010, include a Bosch kitchen suite, Fleetwood for the few window replacements, solid oak floors, new redwood decks and railings, plumbing, HVAC, exterior lighting, roof and electrical, all executed to high standards. Original features, such as the Fleming-designed walnut cabinetry were carefully refurbished to maintain that quality of authenticity, The Dutton House earned historical designation and Mills Act contract, substantially lowering property taxes.
