Denise Runza was born and raised in Iowa but relocated to the Isle of Palms in 1993 to be near the ocean, and has lived here ever since - 30 great years.
She enjoys the Island’s intercostal waterway, beach, parks & trails. She also has a deep understanding of our neighborhoods and schools, which makes her an asset when finding the right home in the right spot.
Denise started her career in the Financial Industry. For over 14 years she grew in knowledge and strived to acquire all the needed licenses to become a top asset in her field.
She then took a short break to start a family but after her children grew to elementary school ages, she felt the need to do more.
Her love for children pushed her to become an elementary teacher with East Cooper Montessori. She also volunteered her time as Chair of the Children’s Committee at FUMC IOP, as well as VBS Director there for many years. She has a big heart for children and families alike. She also loves to give back to the community by helping Halos of Charleston.
She has been married for 29 years and has two teenage children. In her free time, she enjoys reading, running, biking, and snow skiing with her family.
