Larserik Hansen

Lars Hansen has 20-plus years of experience in construction and design, combine this with local knowledge and a deep passion for peoples’ stories and you have a guy who is ready to roll up his sleeves and go to work for you!

He grew up in a small fishing village in Denmark and comes from a family of hard-working farmers and fishermen. At the age of 17, he chose to pursue an apprenticeship as a carpenter and bought his first house! Then, in his early twenties, he worked on tall ships crossing the Atlantic Ocean, which later led him to working as a commercial fisherman in Alaska.

Lars arrived in Durango in 2003 and enjoys mountain living with his 2 children and his wife Sheryl, who is a talented Interior Designer, artist and the owner of Handcrafted House. They share a love for architecture and design and enjoy adding value to the local community.

He has experience owning and operating several businesses, along with designing commercial and residential projects that suit him well in assisting clients with their real estate vision. He also has artistic talents as a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and vocalist who you may have seen participating in Durango’s vibrant music scene.

Having grown up in Scandinavia, Lars is fluent in three languages: Danish, English and German.

Should you pass him in the great Colorado outdoors, he is likely to be fishing, rafting, hiking or mountain biking.
