Originally from Taiwan, Lin-Lin lived in Pennsylvania and Florida before settling down in the Bay Area in 1977. She graduated from UC Santa Cruz with a degree in politics and a minor in East Asian studies, and lived in Japan for five years, where she earned a certificate in Japanese Language Proficiency from the Sapporo Language Institute. An avid traveler, Lin-Lin enjoys meeting different people and learning about their cultures, which is why she loves the diversity of the Bay Area.

Lin-Lin is passionately involved in her church and actively supports its global humanitarian efforts. She is an enthusiastic volunteer for church-sponsored service projects, including helping low-income families and the homeless. She is also devoted to her husband of 25 years and her three grown children. In her free time, Lin-Lin enjoys cycling, scrapbooking, and yoga.
