About Monique

Monique has spent a majority of her life in SW Colorado and is proud to call this little slice of Utopia her home. She moved to Durango around 2007 to be closer to her family and to learn about soil and food security through organic farming. With her focus on family, health, and community, she immersed herself learning about farming, food production, and soil fertility and quickly fell in love with it. In her nine years on a local farm, Monique assisted in growing the facility from one quarter of an acre garden to over six gardens ranging up to 2 acres, a flock of chickens, and several beehives.

Monique’s introduction to real estate began young, as her father is a developer. She was that kid that was always on the construction sites visiting her dad. With her father and step-mom both being in the Building/Real Estate field, and both loving their careers, she decided to try it out. She started as an assistant and eventually became a licensed broker, helping to form and establish Team North Star. By having a team of three full-time Brokers and a full-time assistant they are able to focus on all types of real estate and always give their customers outstanding service while still enjoying the outdoors and the beauty the world has to offer.

Through her experiences, Monique has realized her passion for agriculture, the outdoors, and her community. She is a firm believer in treating others how you want to be treated and sees people doing just that in Durango. She truly believes in this community and its compassion and kindness. Her goal is to connect individuals, couples, and families with not just a house, but a new place to call home in Southwest Colorado. Just as she fell in love with Durango so many years ago, she is here to help you do the same in our wildly diverse SW Colorado home.
