About Susan
Susan grew up in Colorado, where she skied competitively, and fully enjoyed all aspects of the states' natural gifts and growing urban areas. She attended Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon for a degree in Psychology. After managing an upscale Italian restaurant in Fort Collins, Colorado, she joined the Army. Various training took her to Tucson, Arizona and Monterey, California where she learned Arabic. Assignments shortly followed in Germany and Italy with two tours in Iraq. For almost ten years, she was fortunate enough to live in Vicenza, Italy, the birthplace of architecture's inimitable Andrea Palladio, the creator of Villa Capra 'La Rotunda', and the inspiration for Thomas Jefferson's most noted designs almost two centuries later.
Susan added Italian to her portfolio, and served as a liaison officer between American and Italian forces. It was learning the language that made possible a deeper appreciation of art, design, and locally sourced cuisine. She moved to Charlottesville in 2008 and feels right at home here, with the surrounding vineyards, the rich academic culture, and the many pleasures of this vibrant small town. She fell in love with the Virginia countryside and the beautiful historic estate homes. It was this love, along with the support of a long-time family friend and realtor, that encouraged her to pursue a career in real estate. Susan is very adept at listening to the needs of her clients and would love to help you find the right place to call home.
