GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

I like the teacher's there but would like to see teachers leave less often. I like the family feeling and it not feeling like an institution. Being 1 of a handful of non-caucasian students, I wish it was more diverse. I like the updated facilities but I would like to see even more updated facilities. I also wish it helped us be more college ready because whoever does go to college is going to have a challenge.

Good school for a small town. There are lots of different activities in the athletic and music department.

I would like to see academics taken more seriously and more helpful for students going to college. Majority of the time I am not challenged enough which is not very helpful for my future, in which I hope to be challenged. I also think that Anamosa High School does not provide adequate help for students to discover what they might like to study in college or what kind of job they might want to have after college.

Learning is pretty average. Teachers are good people who do a good job connecting to the students. Administration is below average.

I would say the experience for our two kids was all over the board. On the academic side, this school does not believe in home work or preparing for life skills. Maybe the biggest surprise for me as a parent was when they indicated it doesn't really matter how you do on tests as you can just retake...

I would rate this school one out of five. Don’t get me wrong, there are just a few small - and I mean SMALL hand full of amazing teachers at all three schools combined plus two absolutely amazing nurses, Nurse Debbie and Nurse Jess but other than that the Anamosa Schools need to straighten some thin...

Should be shut down!! Administration is a huge problem. High drop out rate not supportive of individual needs.
