Our Griffin student just graduated this spring and we are glad that she was a part of this community during the pandemic. There was a lot of intention placed around trying to find creative and authentic ways to build community and to keep school as much like school as possible. Overall curriculum was challenging and there are choices for acceleration if you have a child that wants those opportunities (such as AP classes). There has been a successful attempt to build up the athletics program and several recent students have been recruited for college teams in Cross Country and Track. My student found a wide range of club options and the music and art instruction is above and beyond what you might expect from a small school. There is a lot of flexibility and acceptance for students to be who they need to be.

They don't care about mental health, they act like they do and they put up a front to parents and the outside world. But inside they don't care about what happens to the students, they don't care if you have panic attacks or diagnosed depression, they just care about money.

Griffin is a small and personalized high school, and everyone really knows everyone at the school. The staff, students, and parents are caring and kind, and there is a lot of focus on building and maintaining a healthy social dynamic at the school. People feel safe at Griffin.
