Opened in 2013 as a charter school just east of South Mountain, BASIS Ahwatukee serves more than 700 students in fourth through twelfth grades in the Ahwatukee area of Phoenix. The faculty here set the bar pretty high with an open culture that fosters well-rounded excellence.
Following a rigorous curriculum, BASIS Ahwatukee often ranks in the top 10 of all high schools in Arizona and in the top 100 of all high schools in the United States with absolutely stellar test scores in math and reading, in addition to a 100% graduation rate. If those stats aren’t enough, 100% of students pass at least one Advanced Placement exam.
Outside of the classroom, students can also thrive creatively in a wide range of extracurriculars including anime, coding, improv and drama, orchestra, and robotics, among others. Additionally, the more athletic set can find team spirit and compete in basketball, fencing, soccer, and volleyball.
As an enriching experience for seniors, BASIS hosts senior projects that empower students to engage in off-campus research projects or internships where they can work with a mentor in their desired field and present their learnings like a scholar. One of the most exciting aspects of these senior projects is that they can take place anywhere in the world, placing no limits on what can be unlocked by the creativity of each student.

Best for my kid the admin are super friendly and gave a lot of support there were so many fun activities throughout school year my kid got so motivated to excel her potential With teacher's encouragement we also met so many great families through school

Our daughter loves Basis Ahwatukee. She is in an early grade and has adjusted well from her previous school where she was bored. The curriculum is (truly) rigorous, and goes fast with a significant amount of material covered, but the teachers are supportive and there is a large amount of effort put into helping students get the help they need to succeed, and also a large amount of effort in the early grades in helping students 'learn to learn' - teaching them to be organized, showing them how to take useful notes and how to study in a productive way. She also enjoys the after school clubs - in her previous school they often seemed like 'advanced babysitting', but here she is really enjoying them and getting a lot out of them. I don't know whether Basis would work for every child, but our daughter is thriving there.
