Significant growth around Augusta’s Belair neighborhood led to the establishment of the Belair K-8 School in 2018. The school's campus is pristine, offering an expansive building with multiple wings, an outdoor play area and an athletics complex.
Since its inception, Belair K-8 has put technology at the forefront of the school’s academic curriculum. The school provides iPads for every child in kindergarten through second grade and laptops for students in grades three through eight, which are used solely as tools for educational instruction. The subjects of science, technology, engineering, art and math are a core focus at Belair K-8. The school boasts three STEM labs and two computer labs, along with 22 STEM-Certified educators and community partnerships with the National Security Agency, Cyber Academy of Excellence, IOTA Communications and Georgia architects.
Belair K-8 is right down the road from Fort Gordon and the school demonstrates a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by military children by providing a Child and Youth Behavioral Military and Family Life Counselor Program to help students who need additional support or tutoring services. Middle schoolers who play sports—Go Falcons!—will find plenty of athletic opportunities at Belair K-8, along with a bridge program with Westside High School for students who want to continue to play after graduating.
