Hillside Junior High School opened its doors in 1961 to serve a diverse student population growing in the Boise Foothills neighborhood. By the early 90s, more classrooms and resources were needed, and a new, larger, and improved campus was constructed through a bond measure. Today Hillside Junior High School offers seventh through ninth-grade students modern classrooms, a cafeteria, a large gymnasium, and several athletic fields, including softball diamonds, tennis courts, football fields, and an improved parking lot and bus drop-off area. At Hillside Junior High School, educators and students work together to develop academic achievement and integrity by creating a safe and inclusive learning environment. Courses at the school include several STEM-based projects, AVID college prep classes, music, band, drama, and more. With a focus on academics and providing a supportive student culture, students perform at or slightly above the state average in math, reading, and science. Kids cheer on the Hillside Rams, who consistently place high in junior varsity leagues of basketball, wrestling, volleyball, tennis, track and field, and football. After-school programs include the snowboarding and ski club, Science Bowl, and Hill Honor Society. Parents appreciate the active parent-teacher organization that helps oversees fundraising efforts and on-campus events, including the annual Spring Concert, dances, and holiday events. Hillside Junior High School's commitment to student success and diversity makes it a top contender for student learning in the area.

Hillside is such a great Junior High. The size is just right for my kids. Teachers care and genuinely want good for their students. Counselors go above and beyond. My daughter keeps telling me about how her friend is getting harassed by the vice principal and the principal and is getting suspended because a girl using a no contact order to bully and harass him while the VP helps her. The school has also done nothing to help my daughter from being bullied even...
