Hillside Junior High School opened its doors in 1961 to serve a diverse student population growing in the Boise Foothills neighborhood. By the early 90s, more classrooms and resources were needed, and a new, larger, and improved campus was constructed through a bond measure.
Today Hillside Junior High School offers seventh through ninth-grade students modern classrooms, a cafeteria, a large gymnasium, and several athletic fields, including softball diamonds, tennis courts, football fields, and an improved parking lot and bus drop-off area.
At Hillside Junior High School, educators and students work together to develop academic achievement and integrity by creating a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Courses at the school include several STEM-based projects, AVID college prep classes, music, band, drama, and more. With a focus on academics and providing a supportive student culture, students perform at or slightly above the state average in math, reading, and science.
Kids cheer on the Hillside Rams, who consistently place high in junior varsity leagues of basketball, wrestling, volleyball, tennis, track and field, and football. After-school programs include the snowboarding and ski club, Science Bowl, and Hill Honor Society.
Parents appreciate the active parent-teacher organization that helps oversees fundraising efforts and on-campus events, including the annual Spring Concert, dances, and holiday events.
