During the summer months, each grade level is administered a reading-oriented program. Sixth and seventh grade students are given a short list of books to read and are encouraged to finish at least one. When they return in August, sixth graders are given the opportunity to participate in discussions and review any new skills they’ve learned while seventh graders can complete a quiz based on their reading to earn extra credit. Eighth graders, unlike the previous students, are encouraged to read at least two books over their summer to improve their reading comprehension.

I have one child at AG and another who went through AG and is in HS. My son had a fantastic experience at AG. He was prepared for high school and made good friends. Middle school years can be rough, but AG is big enough that there are friends and activities for everyone.
