Using the International Baccalaureate Program, Lansdowne Elementary empowers students to become critical, independent thinkers so they may adapt to our ever-changing global society using challenging programs of international education and rigorous assessment.
Each of the school’s 553 K-5 students is seen as an individual with value and specific interests, as well as someone aching to learn with potential for success. They believe praise, big or small, goes a long way in developing minds, so they make sure each student receives a lot.
Every student is made an active and responsible participant in their own learning. Teachers allow students to decide on how they should learn, have the student set their own goals, and the teachers never try to control the students’ learning.
The school employs inquiry-based instruction, a student-centered teaching method that encourages students to ask questions and investigate real-world problems.
Parent and community connections support Lansdowne Elementary’s students by helping them with homework, raising money, volunteering at events, and pushing public officials to make education funding a priority. They also teach students about issues of global significance, such as climate change, unemployment, and the government.

My Family and I Love Lansdowne Elementary School! It's definitely a great fit for our Son! Teachers and other staff are very caring and compassionate.

We've had a wonderful experience at Lansdowne! The teachers are supportive and tend to stick around. The IB program is excellent, preparing the kids to be well-rounded learners.
