Albemarle high was an experience I'll never forget. My choir teacher Jennifer Morris was one of the best teachers you could ever ask for. Classes were engaging and inspiring and made me want to learn more. The food may have not been the best but the atmosphere more than made up for it. As somebody who transferred in midway through the school year they welcomed me and made me feel like I was always a part of the school.

Overall, my experience has not be terrible with Albemarle High School. There are many good clubs and classes that can relate to many possible future careers. However, safety has not been the best up until this year. There have been many fights in the past, and threats had been a major issue or a while. Now, everything has calmed down a lot, and safety has become a much bigger priority for the school.

The diversity of the student body is great for POC students, and the size of the student body means there's always a lot going on in terms of sports, clubs, and extracurriculars. The outdoor space is great. However, the administration tends to make changes to policies that are unpopular among students, and there's a big overcrowding problem -- we have "temporary" English classrooms separate from the main building because of it.

My daughter has had a very good experience a AHS. Teaching is overall very good. Incidents of violence and conflict are few, and the current principal deals with them firmly.

I don't remember who the guidance counselor is, but whoever they are, they sure don't believe in returning phone calls. Countless times, my wofe and Ibhave tried to get ahold of the guidance counselor to see abkut having my daughter's school records sent to another school and nothing. No return phon...

My three children attend AHS now and we love the school. Plenty of activities and learning opportunities for each individual l. The school has a great “Patriot” spirit and the kids look very happy at all the social events for homecoming, sports, charity Powder Puff, etc.

The overall rating for this school does not reflect my family's experience. The school's MESA program attracts the best and brightest from all over the county - other county high schools have tried hard to come up with their own specialty programs in order to retain students. The school is larger th...
