Ashburn Community Elementary School, a Chicago Public Schools campus, offers students in pre-K through 8th grade a competitive learning environment. Designated as a Level 1 school, Ashburn Community places a strong emphasis on technology and 21st-century learning. This includes fully state-of-the-art classrooms outfitted with smart boards, document cameras and learning software. Students receive a rigorous education under the direction of experienced and dynamic teachers. The school serves 344 students in smaller-than-average classroom sizes. Ashburn Community Elementary is committed to developing academically competitive students, to prepare them for success in future learning environments and after graduation. Several programs exist for high-performing students, including the Comprehensive Gifted Program in the early grades and advanced programs in algebra and biology as students prepare for high school. Ashburn Community graduates regularly gain admittance to competitive high schools in the Chicago area, including Lane Technical High School and Jones Preparatory High School. Yearly programs include Spirit Week, Back to School Bash events, Dr. Seuss Week, and science and multicultural fairs, and parents are invited to participate in students' educational experiences. After-school and summer learning programs are available. The Ashburn Flames athletic programs offer involvement in numerous sports, including soccer, baseball and softball.

Awesome School filled with caring teachers and parents. This a level 1+ school. If you visit on any day, you will see the love.

I was very disappointed with the unprofessional-ism of the Principal and some of the teachers. If you are a parent who wants your child to be prepared to compete for selective high schools, this is not the school for you. I had to supplement work, stay on top of curriculum being taught, copy homewor...
