Hampton Fine & Performing Arts Elementary works to create a profound love of learning and the arts in all children. Serving students from pre-K through 8th grade, Hampton Elementary provides a creative environment backed by a traditional curriculum. Necessary skills in reading and math are enhanced through Hampton’s focus on the performing arts, visual arts and music. A Chicago Public School’s Community Schools Initiative campus, Hampton's community members value diversity, critical thinking and creativity. A dynamic partnership with local YMCAs offers greater access to resources and extracurricular programming for both students and families outside of school. Named after jazz pianist and vibraphonist Lionel Hampton, Hampton Elementary continues the artist's creative and enduring legacy through its students. Programs include arts events, youth science fairs and a YMCA summer program. Constructed in 2000, Hampton Elementary offers a modern, 21st-century campus dedicated to helping students achieve their creative best.

I like that the school is in my neighborhood which is pretty safe. The school is always clean and neat. They are however lacking a lot of things I had in school such as art clubs, music and more. Seems like the kids have a lot of free time after class and hardly any activities.

This school offers many performing arts activities. Dance, sports, instruments, concerts, etc. My daughter attends this school and recently feels like she is being bullied my some staff and the principal and assistant principal. She feels unsafe and feels like she cant walk around without be address...

Wonderful people as well as curriculum. My daughter graduated with all A's. My son currently attends and has A's and one B in Art. This school is very intricate and the teacher are always available through telephone,school phone,email,or face-to-face conference.
