Pathways in Education is an alternative learning-opportunity program that assists underserved and at-risk students in the Chicago area. One of ten schools in five states, Pathways began in 2005 as a leadership camp program, and established its first school in 2006. Pathways in Education focuses on the key aspects of mutual trust, respect, compassion, integrity and resilience.
Students receive an individualized education with an emphasis on experiential learning that prepares them for future career readiness and success as lifelong learners. Students at Pathways in Education gain knowledge, skills and value from involvement with their experiences, guided by teachers and mentors for the greatest impact.
Programs include weekend college tours, yearly trips to Washington DC and learning-experience field trips to other Pathways campuses, including their Blackbird Farm and Rock Mountain Ranch locations. The staff continually works with students to give them the structure and skills necessary to help them achieve their goals and dreams.
The focus of Pathways in Education is to increase student graduation rates, and this institution caters to those most at risk and in need of more individualized and dynamic classroom experiences. Programs are available at zero cost to parents.
