The best part of Hammond for me was the school spirit. Since the school is filled with people from all cultures, culture fest was exciting and the spirit weeks were so fun because everyone would participate.

I would say that my overall experience at Hammond Highschool was a positive one. Though there are things I would like to see changed when it comes to the safety of the school. Over the course of the year Hammond had seen its fair share of fights and other conflicts between other students. At some point it became a somewhat normal occurrence for the school as a whole because people were used to it. In the future I would like to see change when it comes to that.

Hammond is extremely diverse and rich in culture. I have loved every minute I've spent there. While it is good there is a lot of fighting and strict environments that are there as well. Sometimes it is hard to learn properly because there are so many altercations among students there.

My kid is thriving at Hammond High and is in mostly AP/GT courses. Assignments and feedback are very organized. He seems to be enjoying himself, despite the long study hours . I think that Hammond is stuck in a rough situation. Its difficult for them to point to parents and say, your level of involvement equates to your childs' success.
