My time at Hammond was a fast pace one starting high school off being online I did miss out on any real freshman experiences. So starting my 10th grade year was really important to me but was also hindered with the school going under construction for renovations. So my time really shined in my 11th grade year that's when most of the construction was finished and everyone was a lot more welcoming with the newer space compared to the old one. The quality of life took a leap in the right direction. My senior year was a lot slower getting ready for college and I didn't make as many social connections mainly sticking with my older ones but the ones I did make we with the staff and them giving me advice on how to move forward and prepare for times ahead and I'm grateful for the things they shared with me.

Going to this high school was the absolute worst experience of my life. I hated my time here, and I would never send my kids to this school.

My kid is thriving at Hammond High and is in mostly AP/GT courses. Assignments and feedback are very organized. He seems to be enjoying himself, despite the long study hours . He enjoys friendships that are supportive. Ms. Reid is an engaged and effective Principal. The school sends emails to parent...

I think that Hammond is stuck in a rough situation. Its difficult for them to point to parents and say, your level of involvement equates to your childs' success. Too many parents at hammond think its the schools job to raise thier child. I sat in a 9th grade orientation and heard many parent questi...
