Located in Mesa about 15 miles south of Downtown Anaheim, this private Mandarin immersion school serves students from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. Frontiers Academy offers a unique, trilingual immersion model with instruction in Mandarin, Spanish and English. A primary goal of the school is to ensure that all students become trilingual. Frontiers Academy serves approximately 80 students and boasts a student-to-teacher ratio of about 4-to-1.
Frontiers Academy offers a rigorous core curriculum that is designed to empower students to become critical thinkers and life-long learners who are also good global citizens. The early childhood program provides a strong foundation of essential skills, preparing students for immersion learning and helping them develop good learning habits. The elementary program focuses on helping students develop a deeper understanding of the curriculum. Elementary math is taught using the Chinese National Curriculum and students typically perform one to two grades ahead of their peers at other elementary schools. The middle school program focuses on further developing students’ academic abilities using an interdisciplinary approach that nurtures students’ intellectual curiosity.
In addition to its academic programs, Frontiers Academy offers before and after school programs that provide additional instruction and academic support for students in the arts, science, technology, engineering, math and language. The school also offers weekly virtual Mandarin and Spanish programs for children aged three to five years old as well as summer camps that help preschool and elementary-aged children learn Mandarin and Spanish in a fun and interactive environment.
