Private Pre-K, Elementary, Middle School | Grade Pre-K-7
3241 W 44th Ave,  Denver, CO
1.0
The Messiah Baptist School of Denver, located on West 44th Avenue, began its tenure in the basement of a private home. In 1960, five years after founding the Messiah Baptist Church of Denver, Pastor Tommy Moore and his wife began offering religious-based private education from their home for the children of church members. After many venue changes, the church and school settled into the mission-style building at the corner of West 44th Avenue and Irving Street. The school is within walking distance of Rocky Mountain Lake Park and McDonough Park. Messiah Baptist School educates children from kindergarten through eighth grade. Class sizes are small, allowing teachers more individual time with students. The school teaches a faith-based curriculum and uses the King James Bible as its primary textbook. Messiah Baptist School holds the distinction of being among the oldest private schools still in operation in Denver.
