Hesby Oaks Leadership Charter is a charter school in the Encino neighborhood of Los Angeles, California that provides education to elementary and middle school students from kindergarten through eighth grade.
Currently run by Principal Movses Tarakhchyan, Hesby Oaks Leadership Charter puts an emphasis on leadership and problem solving with classes that expand beyond the scope of academics to stay current with an evolving world. All students reap the benefits of Hesby Oaks Leadership Charter’s beautiful computer lab. In fact, different lessons are tailored to students in each grade, fostering a tech-savvy student body prepared for the future. In seventh and eight grade, students can even choose to take a game design elective. Other electives for middle school students include marine ecology and drama.
Hesby Oaks Leadership Charter’s commitment to students does not stop at the bell and the school offers a variety of after school programs, including a chess club, a coding camp, and Beyond the Bell: Youth Services. The school is really great up until 6th grade. After 6th grade the teachers stop caring, and with Mrs.Naturman gone, there is no more passion from the teachers. All 7th and 8th graders can agree that we aren't learning anything. Leave after 6th grade.

This is our fourth year at the school and I have been overall incredibly pleased with my family’s experience.
