Out of the blue they came up with a new class room and randomly 'assigned' students from various Kindergarten class rooms to this new room with a highly inexperienced teacher (who has never previously handled Kindergarten) and told us only 2 days ahead! The TLDR version is that PS 16 is a school that produces high scores. It is a competitive environment that we did not find warm and needs more art, sports, or other well-balanced activities. PS16 in Jersey City will be our reason to move from Jersey City. I am really surprised how the school still holds a high rating, since the system is shockingly disappointing.
