Established in 1968 and named after the president of the California School Board in the 1950s, Elizabeth Hudson K-8 School is a public magnet school in the Long Beach Unified School District. The home of the Hawks empowers students to become active and caring citizens. Hudson features core curriculum studies including math, English, reading, science and social studies. The school also sponsors the prestigious MESA program, which provides economically disadvantaged students the skills and opportunity to be successful in STEM careers. Hudson is celebrated for its extensive music program and features vocal music, fundamentals of music and instruction in the cultural and historical aspects of various styles of music. Students in kindergarten through fifth grade receive vocal training, and the school boasts a legendary audition-based choir of approximately 60 students in Grades 4 and 5. Hudson also has a celebrated visual arts program and features various sports, including football, basketball, soccer, cross country and track.

Not a safe place for the kids. Kids often fight at he school campus. Elementary school teachers are neutral. Nurse not always available. Principal always walking seems lost. Low rating. no parent teacher conference meeting. staffs are not helpful, "well aside from Ms Anette whos always the best"

This is a great K-8 school to have your child attend. There is great staff, environment and children.

There are not many clubs or organizations available at this school. It was very minimum; they did not last very long.

This school is great they are very organized and helpful.The teachers are great and spend so much time with the children. The children feel safe with lots of parent involvment and security. The principle is very supportive and the staff very nice.I love this school for it's welcoming feel.
