Dunleith Elementary School serves students in the Southwest Marietta neighborhood, providing students with the unique opportunity of dual language immersion. As such, students receive instruction in both English and Spanish during the school day. Along with training teachers in providing this form of learning, the school also invests in high quality bilingual resources. The school also provides before and after school care, as well as summer programs. Such instruction is provided in and supported through the schools updated facilities, such as the school’s media center. In the media center, students not only get to fully operate their own 100% student-ran daily news show, but also get to expand their learning in the makerspace with arts and crafts, a 3D printer, builder kits, and more. Such spaces help to create stimulating, inviting learning spaces, with age-appropriate resources. Dunleith Elementary School strives to provide students with the best chance for success, and even account for correctional approaches. Hence, they implement Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS). Dunleith joins over 19,000 schools in implementing PBIS, providing “…evidence-based, data-driven framework proven to reduce disciplinary incidents, increase a school’s sense of safety and support improved academic outcomes.” In fact, this sentiment extends further than just the program, but throughout the schools entire initiative, making Dunleith Elementary a beneficial option for students in Kindergarten through fifth grade in the Southwest Marietta neighborhood.

Dunleith is growing and helping out children to grow. The principal knows children by name. The teachers have a heart for the students and high expectations. The DLI (Dual Language Immersion) program is phenomenal. They are beginning to host events again, and we just had a great art night and movie...

Dunleith has been a horrible experience for my children and myself. They have a high turnover rate for staff and they do little to nothing regarding bullying. The teachers yell at the students all-day. It’s insane. My children will not step foot in this school another year.
