Dunleith Elementary School serves students in the Southwest Marietta neighborhood, providing students with the unique opportunity of dual language immersion. As such, students receive instruction in both English and Spanish during the school day. Along with training teachers in providing this form of learning, the school also invests in high quality bilingual resources. The school also provides before and after school care, as well as summer programs. Such instruction is provided in and supported through the schools updated facilities, such as the school’s media center. In the media center, students not only get to fully operate their own 100% student-ran daily news show, but also get to expand their learning in the makerspace with arts and crafts, a 3D printer, builder kits, and more. Such spaces help to create stimulating, inviting learning spaces, with age-appropriate resources. Dunleith Elementary School strives to provide students with the best chance for success, and even account for correctional approaches. Hence, they implement Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS). I believe that this is the best Elementary school in the Marietta school district. The teachers are extremely warm and friendly, the principal is involved and know each student by name. Dunleith is growing and helping out children to grow. The principal knows children by name. The teachers have a heart for the students and high expectations.
