Cabrini High School is located in the Bayou St. John neighborhood of New Orleans. This learning institution has been serving the community since 1959 and educates young women from eighth through 12th grade. The parochial school class sizes are deliberately kept small so each student can receive one-on-one time with their instructors. Originally founded as an orphanage for girls by Mother Maria Cabrini, a nun working in New Orleans during the late 1800s and early 1900s, the building eventually transitioned into a high school. Today, the institution is an accredited college preparatory school that strives to teach students the importance of tradition and give them the tools and skills to become the ground-breaking leaders of tomorrow. To do this, the school offers a myriad of extracurriculars and athletic teams for students to participate in. These range from national honor societies, a culinary club, and an origami club to swimming, volleyball, cross country track and basketball.

I really love how much of a bond we have as a school and it really feels like a sisterhood here and a safe home for all of us. Although I love my school so much I would love to see some changes in upgrading the campus and help out sports teams that need financial help.

The small student body creates a unique environment with a fantastic student to teacher ratio (1:14). It really is one big family.

Cabrini is a good school. The teachers are nice. The academics are good. Cabrini likes to say that they don't discriminate on the bases of race but most students of color would disagree.

As an alum, I was not impressed. I hope the racism has improved.

It is a wonderful school. All of the girls, at least when my daughter attended, were like sisters. They all looked out for one another. My daughter played soccer and that team was just so closely knit and even stayed in touch after graduating. Class of '2008
