Built during the housing boom of the 1950s, Maryland Elementary School has evolved from a mid-century neighborhood landmark to a modern institution, today teaching more than 600 children in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. As part of the Washington Elementary School District in Phoenix, the school lives by a simple mission: achieving success for all, every day in every way. Bringing classrooms into the 21st century, the school uses SMART Board technology, which are like large interactive touch-screen televisions. These pieces of state-of-the-art tech can be found in every classroom in order to give students the opportunity to utilize these modern amenities in every aspect of their learning. Aside from its core curriculum, Maryland Elementary also offers computer classes, an English Language Development program, a Native American program, a remedial speech program, as well as special education. Extracurriculars include art, band, strings, orchestra, choir, student council, and yearbook, not to mention an athletics program with volleyball, soccer, cross country, and more. When it comes to students’ overall wellbeing, the school hosts a school-based medical and dental clinic, manages an after-school program, and provides free breakfast and lunch to all pupils. At Maryland Elementary School, the faculty strive to help students achieve their highest potential each and every day.

Classrooms are very nicely set up, big and spacious for kids. Family engagement nights are so fun!!! My kids love them, we have not missed a family night yet. Teachers advocate for kids and they are always available thru email or remind app.
