Aptly named, Lakes Elementary School is sandwiched between two large lakes north of Belding Road: Silver Lake and Bostwick Lake. The charming, sparsely populated area between the lakes creates a calm and welcoming environment for the kindergarten through fifth grade students enrolled in this school. As a Blue Ribbon Exemplary School and Schools of Choice participant, Lakes Elementary is an excellent option for parents in the surrounding area. The school has served the local community since the building was first constructed in 1952. Multiple renovations have helped breathe new life into the school, and teachers have emphasized updating student programs similarly. Lakes Elementary is dedicated to inspiring students of all abilities. The English Language Learners program provides in-class assistance to students learning English as a second language, and lessons are specially tailored for kids with autism or cognitive disabilities. With a strong before and after-school care program and opportunities to continue science and technology lessons in summer, students can learn alongside their peers all year.

I have taught at Lakes Elementary for 15 years. It is a great place to work. My co-workers are an awesome group of highly skilled an dedicated professionals. I don't want to ever have to leave this school until I retire.

I went to Lakes when I was in elementary school. I was always excited to go to school, and there was always something fun going on every single day. I miss that school.
