GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

The best parts within my high school experience is simply meeting the wonderful people inside it. I'm so thankful for engaging and getting along with a select few that also goes to school there. The worst part about my overall high school experience is the lack of attentiveness. I understand the administers and teachers try there hardest to be helpful but with the amount of kids compared to the staff and lot of things go unnoticed which typically leads to some kids not being taught and constant fights breaking out. With that being said I would like to see more awareness in the school.

The schools is often a mess with administrators not caring about the staff or students well being. For lack of a better phrase, the school does not have its priorities straight.

Schenectady High School's diversity, arts program, and IB program prepared me greatly for college and to receive a BS from a top 50 school, to then move on to a competitive work environment in New York City

The Bluse Roses Theatre Company is amazing and great for kids lookingto go into Acting in college. I will be taking 3 pre-IB classes and I like how the people I've talked to have tol...

SHS is an amazing school. It gets a lot of bad attention because negative things about the school are emphasized more than the positive things. Overall, it has a full IB program, offers the Inspire program, Smart Scholars, Votec, Pre-IB, and IB certificates as well as special Ed classes and classes...
