West Seattle High School is great for motivated students, but a letdown for those who slip through the cracks. There are resources if you dig enough to resource them, but they aren't always readily made available. Plenty of sports teams and clubs exist for different skill levels and interests. The facilities are nice but outdated, yet there are usually enough materials to make things work.

My best parts of my experience is that I get to go farther socially than I could with my friends. The worst part of my experience is that I had to spend my first two years of high school online during the coronavirus pandemic which kept me lonely from the outside world, because socializing online is not the same as in-person.

Overall, West Seattle High school is a great school. I love all my teachers, our ASB plans fun assemblies and school activities/dances, and the school's inclusiveness allows for a diverse community. Although sports, especially women's, are really underfunded and coached poorly. I've never had the food but I've heard it's not pretty good, and some of the administration are honing in to students bad behavior, or dismissing it.

This school was not a good experience for me. I didn’t feel welcome as a religious person, I’m a Muslim and pray 5 times a day and it was very hard praying at school .I also didn’t feel comfortable of this environment learning was very poor and stressing and there were a lot of drugs in the bathroom...

Outstanding. My closest relative graduated four years ago, to gain acceptance to Mount Holyoke then Columbia University. Her teachers were exceedingly supportive of her every endeavor, and if it were not for the stellar education at West Seattle High School, she never would have made it to the Ivy L...
