GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

The best part about my school is the people an teachers, I really love the social environment of the school. The worst part is the fact that it's not the nicest school being a small school that doesn't have a whole lot of funding could be nicer in areas.

Yellow Springs High School is a small and aging school. I've had pleasant experiences with the courses and the teachers. Although the school is small it offers a wide variety of courses and the teachers are all very nice and understanding. Sometimes a little bit too much causing the courses to not be as rigorous and more laidback. Additionally the facilities are in quite bad condition and there are often leaks and other problems. A new school is greatly needed. Even with these problems this is still a decent school and there is a good school community with almost all students being very nice.

I love our PBL approach and small community. We get lots of help and care from our teachers and are well taken care of. We have problems with racism, faculty and student sexual predators (that have been fired and mostly expelled), and funding.

Serious issues in so many categories. There is a huge bullying problem for such a small, formerly tight knit school. Many, many have left to go elsewhere. Problems (truancy, drug abuse, severe depression) are often not dealt with according to many parents here. Not to mention the basics (failing cou...

This shool district ranks high in the state, however they maintain these results by eliminating the "bad" kids throughout the Junior High & High School years. Nearly half of the parents withdraw their children from the YS district at the end of 6th grade, which is the end of the elementary years, to...

We have come to this school this year and are amazed at the wonderful quality of the staff, students, and even the parents we have encountered. Previously we were at another school in the same county where we had the WORST experience ever. My children were bullied, harassed, even sexually harassed a...
