Pine Brook Hill’s landscape and location among the foothills provide easy access to outdoor recreation. “When you get up there, you feel like you’re in the national forest with all the wildflowers and wildlife,” says Jennifer Eiss, a Realtor with Compass who has over 25 years of experience. “There’s a trail you can access right into Mount Sanitas from the neighborhood.” Hikers and bikers can also explore the Lions Lair and Sunshine Canyon trails nearby.

Pine Brook Hill’s forested landscape has a risk of potential wildfires in the summer months, which is why the HOA has a Firewise Committee. The group is dedicated to helping residents protect their homes through wildfire defense, using techniques such as home hardening and fire-resistant landscaping. These methods are created following the National Fire Protection Association’s guidelines. “A lot of people that live in the neighborhood are engaged in the voluntary fire department,” Griffith says. “It helps with insurance, safety and community. We also have fire hydrants.”

Commuting in and out of Boulder
Pine Brook Hill is a little over 2 miles west of North Boulder and Broadway, one of the city’s main arteries, making it easy for residents to access all of Boulder’s amenities. “I spend all day in town, and then I drive five minutes home and have views of nature. It’s a beautiful experience,” Griffith says. Downtown Boulder is about 4 miles from the neighborhood, which is about a 10-to-15-minute drive for shopping and dining.
Linden Drive is the neighborhood’s main thoroughfare, and is what takes residents up and down the foothills. Boulder County maintains Linden and plows it when it snows. All the roads in Pine Brook Hill are paved, so winter weather is not as big of an issue as it is farther west in the mountains.
