Montclaire South is located within 5 miles of SouthPark and 7 miles to the booming South End. Residents have an array of transit options, including the light rail at the Archdale and Tyvola stations or the Charlotte Area Transit system (CATS) bus routes that run along all the neighborhood's main thoroughfares. Interstate 77 borders the west side of the neighborhood. Charlotte Douglas International is an 8-mile drive via Billy Graham Parkway. Downtown Charlotte is a 9-mile drive taking South Boulevard. Located on a wooded 17.5 acres, Archdale Park is a 2-mile drive on local roads and features a basketball court and play area. Dogs are permitted. Little Sugar Creek Greenway extends nearly 4 miles from Brandywine Road to 7th Street in Charlotte, connecting numerous attractions such as Freedom Park, Charlotte Nature Museum, Metropolitan shopping area and Central Piedmont Community College. The many segments of the greenway create a corridor for walking, biking and running. The Charlotte Symphony entertains thousands of locals every summer at the Summer Pop concert series at Symphony Park.
