Each year, the Mountainbrook Civic Association holds community events. An annual Easter Egg Hunt, Fall Picnic, Halloween party and other events take place through neighborhood members' volunteered time and funds. This year, there is even a mac n' cheese and chili cook-off set in the late summer.
A short commute to Uptown
Commuters can reach Uptown Charlotte in 8 to 12 miles, depending on the route. Mountainbrook is conveniently surrounded by two interstates, though many residents will bypass highway traffic and travel along the more scenic Carmel and Providence roads. There are few sidewalks in town, but the quiet and wide streets make the neighborhood walkable for leisure. Still, most are car-dependent for errands and necessities. The Charlotte Douglas International Airport is just over 10 miles northwest of Mountainbrook.
