"It's a popular area because it's just so close to downtown, and there's access to all the freeways," says Chase Vance, a realtor with Di Lusso Real Estate. Many families live in Glenbrook because it's affordable, Vance says. The Columbus neighborhood is characterized by medium-sized homes built in the 1970s and 80s, closely arranged with limited parking. With its sidewalks, Glenbrook is a walkable neighborhood. Essential amenities abound Witten Farm Market tempts with fresh produce, while Erwan Thai offers flavors of Southeast Asia. Big Lots provides everyday convenience. Parks like Kingsrowe and Three Creek offer playgrounds and serene trails, perfect for family outings.

Glenbrook features a diverse housing landscape, mainly with colonial, ranch-style, split-level homes and townhomes. The neighborhood is experiencing increased investor activity and home flips, Vance says, which has increased its popularity amongst home buyers. The median home price in Glenbrook is $223,950." You can buy a house for under $250,000 in this neighborhood, and sometimes under $200,000, and so that's like the sweet spot of affordable housing here in Columbus," Vance says. Most homes have driveways and front yards full of grass; however, the homes are built close together. Columbus has a competitive housing market, Vance says, because the city has been ranked as one of the top 150 cities to live in, according to U.S. News and World Report.

Career Technical Program provides students with practical job experiences
Public school students go to schools in the Columbus City School District. Students can attend Easthaven Elementary School, which has a C-minus Niche rating, and then Yorktown Middle School, which has a D-plus rating. Independence High School, which has a C-minus rating, offers the Career Technical Program, giving students in-depth training in art, business, communications, and law.

For convenience, there is a Big Lots in Glenbrook. However, there are no shopping malls nearby. Located 15 miles away, Easton Town Center has several big box retailers like Nordstrom, Express, and Gucci, as well as restaurants like The Cheesecake Factory.

Proximity to downtown and easy access to highways
Glenbrook is near Interstate Highway 70 to the North and I-270 South, making travel through Columbus easy. "You're literally in the center of all those highways," Vance says. Residents can also ride the Central Ohio Transit Authority for regional bus routes. Glenbrook is 10 miles from Rickenbacker International Airport and six miles from John Glenn Columbus International.
Cooking classes and boozy pajama parties at The Franklin Park Conservatory
Despite not being in Glenbrook, the Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens is popular, featuring 400 plant species. The conservatory hosts events throughout the year, like chef and botany classes for all ages and cocktail pajama parties for the 21 and up crowd.
Glenbrook is about seven miles from Downtown Columbus, a district with several restaurants, rooftop bars, shops, and Nationwide Arena, home of concerts, shows, and the Columbus Blue Jackets hockey team.
Walking trails are available at Kingstown Park and East Haven Park
Kingsrowe Park and Easthaven Park have playgrounds, walking trails, and open green spaces for activities. Three Creek Park provides access to Bandy Pond and Heron Pond, a dog park and a playground. Children can play basketball, baseball, softball, and flag football throughout the year through Columbus' Parks and Recreation youth leagues.
