One of three sailing lakes in the city’s park system, Lake Nokomis Park draws flocks of boaters looking for a pristine day out on the water. It’s also popular for biking and walking along lakeside trails. There’s Hale Elementary School, which serves kindergarten through grade 4 and has an A from Niche for teachers and an A-minus in academics. Field Elementary School is a B-rated public school that serves third grade through fifth grade that’s conveniently located within the neighborhood. Both elementary schools “are among the higher-rated schools in Minneapolis,” Hong says. The school offers robust after-school enrichment and additional support for English learners. For air travel, the neighborhood is about 8 miles from the terminals at Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport.
