Many of Windom's homes were built between the 1920s and the 1950s, including Tudor-style houses, ramblers, colonial-style homes and Craftsman-style bungalows. Residents are close to lakes, trails and an art museum
Windom South Park is a small social hub with a playground and a recreation center with a basketball gym. For days by the water, you can head a few miles away to Lake Nokomis Park, one of south Minneapolis’ most popular places to relax. The lake has beaches, fishing piers, jogging and biking trails, sports fields and picnic areas. Kayaks, canoes and paddleboards can be rented on-site. Each winter, the frozen-over lake becomes an ice rink for both casual skating and hockey. To the northwest, the Minneapolis Chain of Lakes, including Lake Harriet, offers similar amenities.
