Montclair offers a convenient suburban lifestyle

Montclair is a sprawling urban community with suburban sensibilities in the Pomona Valley. The region was an instrumental part of the citriculture industry which built the Inland Empire. Excellent schools and parks are a short distance from residential streets, and nearby freeways offer easy routes for commuters.

From single-family Spanish-style homes to modest condos

Here you’ll find a community of quiet cul-de-sacs and wide streets perfect for cyclists, fringed by leafy oak as well as tall pine and palm trees. Much of the community is flatland looking towards the gently rising landscape sloping up to the San Gabriel Mountains. Single-family houses occupy most of Montclair’s residential landscape, with a small collection of condos and townhomes also available. The neighborhood’s flat expanse lends itself to home styles such as the mid-century modern and ranch-style, which both have spacious floor plans and sit wide on home lots. Mid-century modern homes emphasize simple yet distinct geometry in their exteriors. In contrast, ranch-style homes are more simplistic in their exterior designs. Other homes in Montclair mix and match aspects of contemporary architecture with more classic styles, such as the stucco exteriors of Spanish-style homes with the large windows and geometry of more contemporary home trends. Montclair’s condos feature amenities such as community pools and fitness facilities, all while located a short distance from major freeways. In terms of home prices, the average Montclair single-family house costs around $630,000, while larger homes can cost upwards of $790,000.

Two school districts serve the community

The area is served by Ontario-Montclair schools and the Chaffey Joint Union High School District. Children begin at Lehigh Elementary for kindergarten through sixth grade. Students move on to intermediate and secondary institutions at Vernon Middle and Montclair High Schools. The latter high school is one of the oldest in the district and has received the Golden Ribbon Award from the California Department of Education.

Parks bring green to the San Bernardino desert terrain

Montclair’s parks offer expansive community spaces where you can get out and get active. Alma Hofman Park provides large grassy areas and athletic fields, as well as a splash pad, playsets and an excellent skate park. Learn about the local ecosystem at the Waterwise Community Center and Chino Basin Water Conservation District, with displays on low-water gardening styles for native plants and multi-use trails, open green spaces and resource rooms perfect for club meetings. Smaller pocket parks like Sunrise Park offer simple playsets and picnic areas with large green areas ideal for throwing a ball around or relaxing in the grass.

A town center for essentials and authentic dining options

Nearby shopping centers and regional grocery stores are just a stone’s throw away from most homes in Montclair. The Montclair Town Center offers familiar brand-name stores and service vendors to suit your needs. Regional grocery stores like Stater Bros. Markets will keep your kitchen stocked with fresh produce, bulk products and other home goods. Montclair’s restaurant scene provides plenty of options for dining out. Start your day off with a tasty treat from Yum Yum Donuts, a longstanding regional donut shop offering a variety of pastries plus a selection of sandwiches and drinks. The Taco Man is another regional favorite, offering different styles of tacos and Tuesday specials in a friendly, casual dining area.
